The International Network of Art Differencie consists of artistic workshops in visual and performing art specifically formed for mentally disabled artists and those who have psychiatric problems. It was created in 2000 and is unofficial.

The aim is to exchange, inform and make certain projects, which remain unseen in Europe and elsewhere, visible.

Cultural diversity and integrating artistic work in contemporary art circuits form the basis.

Art practitioners who work toward the same goal :

The development and fulfilment of the mentally disabled persons' creativity (children, teenagers and adults).
The promotion and distribution of visual and performing arts productions.
The recognition and integration of these artists in our society.

The Art Differencie Network is a tool at the disposal to its members, to cultural administrators and health professionals.
It permits

To encourage the expansion of creative workshops for the disabled persons,
To urge to collaborate in projects, exchange techniques and exchange artists,
To support all acts that allow training to instructors (facilitators) the targeted public and acknowledgment to productions,
To create ties and a new solidarity towards disabled artists.

We are setting up workshop ‘containers' in which we can dip into to seek partners to mount projects together. This site is an opportunity for certain workshops that are not represented on the net, to also be visible on the web.

A chart specifies the aim, missions and admission criterion to the network. It was elaborated and signed by all partners.

VII. INTERNATIONAL CULTURAL FESTIVAL
for mentally disabled people
Gy?r, Hungary
6-9 July 2007.
organized by Hungarian Special Arts Workshop Association

The Hungarian Special Arts Workshop Association invites you to attend a five-day cultural festival for adult and under-age mentally disabled people.

date: from 6th July to 9th July 2007 (Friday-Monday)
arrival and registration of the foreign participants: 5th July 2007 (Thursday)
venue: Bartók Béla Cultural Centre Gy?r, Hungary

Mentally disabled groups and individuals that register for the festival can present their performances on stage in the following fields of art: singing, dancing (folk dance, ballroom dance, modern dance), acting (drama, puppet-show, pantomime), reciting prose and poetry and playing music.

Each organization will have about maximum 15-20 minutes for performing on stage. It is possible for the participating individuals or groups to perform in more than one field of art. The helpers/ instructors may also take part in the performance.

The varied festival program will include the following events as well:

• Theatrical performances
The participants of the festival perform on the stage of the youth house between 9.00-16.00 every day. The performances follow one another according to a scenario prepared in advance.

• Open-air performances
Besides the performances in the theatre, the public can see the best performances of the day on the outside stage between 16.00-18.00.

• Arts and Crafts and Fine Arts Exhibition
Exhibition of art works produced by mentally disabled artists.

• International Roundtable Talk
The extension of the network cooperation coordinated by HSAWA (possibilities of cooperation).

• Entertainments
During the festival there will be evening entertainments for the participants between 19:00-22:00 each day.

Costs for participants:
The costs for participants differ whether the participants are our Association’s members or not. Our Association’s member is the one who pays the membership fee for the year of 2007, which is 200 Euro (there will be a possibility to join the Association as a new member in the course of the International Roundtable Talk).
The participants will be accommodated both in the hotel and in the youth hostel in two-bedded rooms. See the association for costs.

The traveling expenses must be met by the participants. If you arrive by plane and you would like to have transfer from Budapest Airport to the venue of the festival and back, you must also calculate with an approximately 30 EUR/person transfer cost.
